[ 29.6.02 ] - "When Microsoft made TrueType the standard font format for Windows 3.1, they opted to go with Arial rather than Helvetica, probably because it was cheaper and they knew most people wouldn't know (or even care about) the difference. Apple also standardized on TrueType at the same time, but went with Helvetica, not Arial, and paid Linotype's license fee. Of course, Windows 3.1 was a big hit. Thus, Arial is now everywhere, a side effect of Windows' success, born out of the desire to avoid paying license fees."

[ 4.12.01 ] - I do this sometimes, I'm a complete fool, but at least I'm honest and *this* remains true…
It's not fun anymore. I mean it. No, really. Self-pity is a terrible terrible thing. Too much to think about at once, so tied up in myself when really there's nothing to me. Who am I in the grander scheme of things blah blah. Aspiring to greater things is good, but so many restrictions cause failure, or am I using that as an excuse? Christ, I just need to stop for a bit. Just need a break from thinking, thinking about anything. Nobody's fault, except maybe mine. No ones specifically in charge of it. Oh, bring back childhood. Bring back friends and summer. Bring back grass. Bring back 'real' Birthdays. Bring back BMX tricks, bring back Sundays. Bring back innocence and take my responsiblies. Take my turmoil bring back boredom through lack of stimulation. Bring back boyish looks, bring back milk teeth. Take scars and sores and aches and moles. Half my age, half my height. Take half and bring back my Velcro fastenings, bring back flip-flops and swimming. Bring back comics. Bring back school. Bring back painting on Friday, free milk with foil tops, thin blue straws, stale smelling mats, low chairs high ceilings. Grey tables. Bring back Lego. Bring back crayons. Bring back energy, enthusiasm, vigour. Take nauseous lethargy, I'm sick and tired of it. Take pretension, and unnecessary possessions, bring back originality, bring back muse, inspiration, ideas. Take the rest and recycle. Self pity is a terrible terrible thing, especially when you're someone who's so content. No, no, nevermind. Enough. Go back to sleep. Tomorrow's another day like today like tomorrow.

Currently having severe issues herein with macs, apparently. Layout all squiffy. Sorry Apple lovers - I dearly want this site to look it's best in all circumstances - but have no means of testing. Boo. Can any generous coders out there tell me what’s wrong? Any easy remedies? Probably one td short of a stable site. Hate that.

[ 26.8.01 ] - I haven't smelt that smell, that distinctive soft sugary wood odour of pencil sharpenings, stale after weeks in your pencil case, since school. It just occurred to me.
